By registering for, accessing or using the Community, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not register for or use the Community. These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Community Rules, Cookie Policy and any other policies or notices displayed on the Community. 2. Purpose of the Community The Community exists to provide: peer support and social interaction; a place to discuss gender identity and transition experiences; information sharing and signposting; discussion of social, medical and legal aspects of transition; opportunities to communicate with other members; support for partners, spouses, family members and friends; a respectful environment in which members can share experiences and ask questions. The Community is primarily a peer-support and social platform. It is not a replacement for professional medical, psychological, legal, financial or other specialist advice. 3. Eligibility You must provide accurate information when creating an account. Unless a particular section or service expressly states otherwise, users must be 18 years of age or older to register for the Community. You must not create an account if: you have previously been permanently banned from the Community; you are using another person's identity without their permission; you are creating an account for the purpose of harassment, abuse, fraud or other unlawful activity; you are attempting to evade moderation or account restrictions. Where the Community provides specific areas for younger users, separate age requirements, safeguards and rules may apply. 4. Account Registration When registering, you agree to: provide truthful and reasonably accurate information; keep your login details confidential; take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access to your account; notify the Community operator if you believe your account has been compromised; not allow another person to use your account. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless you can demonstrate that the activity occurred without your authorisation and that you took reasonable steps to protect your account. 5. No member is required to adopt a particular identity, terminology or transition pathway. However, members must not use differences of opinion as an excuse for harassment, abuse or discrimination. 7. Medical Information and Advice Members may discuss medical issues and share personal experiences. However, information posted by members should not be treated as professional medical advice. The Community does not guarantee that information posted by members is: accurate; complete; current; suitable for a particular individual; medically appropriate. Users should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before making decisions concerning medical treatment. Members must not: present themselves as a medical professional when they are not; prescribe medication to other users; encourage another person to stop prescribed treatment without appropriate professional advice; provide instructions intended to facilitate unsafe medical treatment; promote dangerous or unverified treatments as though they are established medical practice. Emergency medical situations should be referred to the appropriate emergency services. 8. The Community is not an emergency or crisis service. If you believe that you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service or crisis service. Members should not attempt to act as a substitute for qualified mental-health professionals. Posts or messages indicating an immediate risk of serious harm may be subject to intervention by moderators where reasonably necessary to protect the user or others. 9. Legal Information Members may discuss legal matters relating to transgender people and transition. Such discussions are provided for general information and peer support only. The Community does not provide legal advice unless expressly stated otherwise by an appropriately qualified professional acting in that capacity. The remaining provisions will continue to apply. 34.
